Work and Study — it’s possible!
Mohammad Sarfaraz Khan is a Strategy manager at OK Student. He is one of many students who managed to balance their work and university tasks and still have some free time for fun and leisure.
“The biggest challenge of coming to the UK for higher studies was the preconceived idea of getting back to studying on an escalated education system. The idea of moving to another country was adventurous, but also gave me a platform to embrace the challenge of balancing my brain academically again with my life. The moment I stepped into my curriculum, my perception flipped completely. The amount of support this education system gives the students, particularly talking about Nottingham Trent University, elevated my expectations for myself. The lecturers will help with any question big or small, cater to any issue academically, along with mentors to help guide your student life from studies to life in the UK.
The opportunities added to the academic experience adds more value to the full year. From business challenges to academic awards, the school allows all the opportunities to climb every ladder, with support available for every step. This comes in addition to employability support, to help with CV and cover letter advice. Services adding to potential job search adds more to the overall value. My part time opportunity at OK Student as an advisor and strategy manager has hardly been an issue alongside my studies. It has more of helped me balance my skills with academic implementation to the job.
One of the key areas I had to look into, and I suggest for everyone else, is to look more into the school and the curriculum rather than only the stature and the ranking of the university. This goes more into how the term will go for you rather than the final degree at hand. Researching the city will also go a long way as it will dictate most of your time studying.”
